This document governs your use of mymidlist.com, a Middle East business directory and yellow pages platform operated by MyMidlist, Kochi, Kerala, India. By accessing or listing your business on our platform, you agree to the terms set out below. Please read this carefully.
MyMidlist (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an online business directory and yellow pages service focused on the Middle East region, including UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan. Our platform enables businesses to create and manage free and premium listings, and enables users to discover, review, and connect with local businesses across the region.

The following definitions apply throughout this Privacy Policy and Terms of Use:
• Company — refers to MyMidlist, Kochi, Kerala, India (“We”, “Us”, “Our”).
• Platform / Service — the website mymidlist.com and all its features and pages.
• User — any individual visiting or using the Platform.
• Business Owner / Listing Owner — any individual or company that submits or manages a business listing on the Platform.
• Personal Data — any information that identifies or can identify a natural person.
• Business Data — publicly available or voluntarily submitted information about a business entity, including business name, address, phone, website, and business email address.
• Marketing Communication — emails, newsletters, or other messages sent to inform businesses or users about directory features, promotional opportunities, or related services.
• Cookies — small data files placed on your device to track session activity and preferences.
• Country — India (country of company registration and data processing headquarters).
• GDPR — General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679.
• CCPA/CPRA — California Consumer Privacy Act and its amendments.
When you register, sign in, or interact with our platform as an individual user, we may collect:
• Full name and username
• Email address
• Phone number (if provided)
• Password (stored in encrypted form)
• Profile preferences and saved listings
• Reviews, ratings, and comments you submit
• IP address, device type, browser, and operating system
• Pages visited, time spent, and interaction behaviour on the Platform
When a business owner submits or claims a business listing on MyMidlist, we collect the following business information, which forms the core content of our directory:
• Business name and trading name
• Business category and sub-category
• Business email address
• Physical address (street, city, country)
• Business telephone and WhatsApp number
• Business website URL
• Business email address — collected for directory listing display AND for marketing communications (see Section 5)
• Business description and services offered
• Operating hours
• Photos, logos, and other media uploaded by the listing owner
• Social media profile links
IMPORTANT NOTICE TO BUSINESS OWNERS: By submitting your business email address to MyMidlist — whether through our listing submission form, contact form, or any other means — you acknowledge and consent that your business email may be used by MyMidlist to send you relevant marketing communications, directory updates, promotional packages, and service announcements. You may opt out at any time. See Section 7 for details.
We automatically collect certain technical information when you visit our Platform:
• IP address and approximate geographic location
• Browser type and version
• Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)
• Operating system
• Referring website URL
• Pages visited, time on page, and navigation paths
• Search queries entered within the Platform
• Click behaviour and scroll depth (via analytics tools)
• Display business listings accurately in search results and category pages
• Allow users to search, filter, and browse businesses by location, category, and keyword
• Enable users to contact businesses directly through our Platform
• Show business ratings, reviews, and engagement metrics
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of our directory database
We use business contact information — including business email addresses collected through listing submissions — for the following marketing and commercial purposes:
• Sending information about premium listing upgrades and featured placement opportunities
• Notifying business owners of new platform features, tools, or category additions
• Sending periodic newsletters containing industry insights relevant to the Middle East business community
• Promoting special advertising and sponsored listing packages
• Conducting satisfaction surveys about our directory services
• Sharing updates about platform improvements that may benefit your listing visibility
Legal basis for marketing emails to business owners (GDPR): We rely on Legitimate Interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) for sending marketing communications to business owners, as such communications are directly related to the business directory services they have engaged with. Where required, we will seek explicit consent before sending marketing emails.
• Sending account-related notifications (registration confirmation, password resets)
• Responding to contact form enquiries and support requests
• Sending newsletters or platform updates (only where you have opted in)
• Notifying users of responses to their reviews or queries
• Analysing traffic patterns to understand which categories and locations are most searched
• Identifying broken listings or low-quality content for quality control
• A/B testing new features and layouts
• Generating aggregated (anonymised) market insights about Middle East business activity
• Complying with applicable Indian laws, UAE regulations, and international legal obligations
• Preventing fraudulent or abusive listing submissions
• Responding to valid legal requests from law enforcement authorities
• Protecting the rights and safety of our users, business owners, and the Platform itself
As a business directory and yellow pages platform, collecting and using business contact information — including email addresses — is fundamental to our operations. This section explains specifically how we handle business email addresses.
• Listing Submission Form: When a business owner submits a listing, the business email field is used for both the directory listing and our marketing database.
• Contact Us Form: Enquiries submitted via our contact page may result in the sender being added to our business communications list.
• Claimed Listings: When a business owner claims an existing listing, the email used for verification is added to our records.
• Publicly Available Sources: For unclaimed listings, we may source business emails from publicly available directories, websites, and business registries in accordance with applicable laws.
• Welcome emails when a listing is submitted or claimed
• Directory performance reports (how many views/clicks your listing received)
• Upgrade offers for premium or featured listings
• Seasonal promotional campaigns relevant to Middle East markets
• Platform announcements (new countries, categories, or tools added)
• Industry-specific newsletters (e.g., restaurant trends in UAE, real estate updates in Qatar)
Every marketing email sent by MyMidlist will include:
• A clear unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email
• The option to manage your communication preferences
• Our physical contact address for opt-out requests by post
You may also opt out at any time by emailing us at info@mymidlist.com with the subject line “UNSUBSCRIBE”. We will process all opt-out requests within 10 business days. Opting out of marketing emails will not affect the display of your business listing.
Note: Even if you opt out of marketing emails, we may still send you essential service-related communications such as listing status updates, verification requests, or important policy change notices. These are not marketing emails and cannot be unsubscribed from while your listing remains active.
• Type: Essential / Session Cookies
◦ Required for the Platform to function. These enable login sessions, listing submission forms, and directory search features. Cannot be disabled.
• Type: Analytics Cookies (e.g., Google Analytics)
◦ Help us understand how visitors use the Platform — which pages are most visited, average session duration, and traffic sources. These are anonymised and do not identify individual users.
• Type: Advertising Cookies (e.g., Google AdSense)
◦ Used to serve relevant advertisements to users based on browsing behaviour. These may be set by third-party advertising networks including Google.
• Type: Preference / Functionality Cookies
◦ Remember user preferences such as language settings or previously searched locations to improve return visit experience.
• Type: Marketing & Retargeting Cookies
◦ Allow us to show relevant MyMidlist promotions to users who have previously visited the Platform on other websites.
On your first visit to mymidlist.com, you will be presented with a cookie consent banner. You may accept all cookies, reject optional cookies, or customise your cookie preferences. Essential cookies cannot be rejected as they are necessary for the Platform to function. Your preferences are saved for future visits.
Our Platform may include cookies from trusted third parties, including:
• Google Analytics — for traffic analysis
• Google AdSense — for display advertising
• Microsoft Clarity — For website interactivity analysis
• Google Maps — for business location display
• Facebook Pixel — for social media retargeting (if enabled)

The following business listing information is publicly visible on mymidlist.com and may be indexed by search engines:
• Business name, address, phone number, website, and category
• Business description and services
• Photos and media uploaded to the listing
• User-submitted reviews and ratings
Business email addresses are NOT displayed publicly on the listing page by default. They are stored internally for the purpose of marketing communications as described in Section 5.
We may share your data with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Platform:
• Email service providers (for sending listing confirmation and marketing emails)
• Cloud hosting and server providers
• Analytics platforms (Google Analytics)
• Advertising networks (Google AdSense)
• Payment processors (for premium listing subscriptions, if applicable)
All service providers are contractually required to process data only on our instructions and in compliance with applicable data protection laws.
We may disclose personal or business data if required to do so by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our business assets, user and business data held by us may be transferred to the acquiring entity. We will notify affected users and business owners via email prior to any such transfer.
8. Data Retention
Business listing data is retained for as long as the listing remains active on the Platform, plus an additional 12 months after removal or deactivation, to comply with our audit and legal obligations.
User account data is retained for the duration of the account’s activity. Inactive accounts (no login for 24 months) may be subject to data deletion or anonymisation after reasonable notice is provided.
Records of marketing email consent, opt-out requests, and communication history are retained for a minimum of 3 years to demonstrate regulatory compliance.
Aggregated, anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely for platform improvement purposes. Identifiable usage data is retained for no longer than 26 months (in line with Google Analytics retention settings).
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
• Right of Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Right to Rectification — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
• Right to Erasure (“Right to be Forgotten”) — request deletion of your data
• Right to Restrict Processing — request that we limit how we use your data

As an Indian-registered company, we also comply with the Information Technology Act, 2000 (IT Act), the IT (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA) as it comes into force.

MyMidlist is a business directory platform intended for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information to our Platform, please contact us immediately at info@mymidlist.com and we will promptly delete such information.
Our Platform contains links to third-party websites, including the websites of businesses listed in our directory. MyMidlist is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these external sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party websites you visit.
We implement commercially reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal and business data from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include:
• SSL/HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted to and from the Platform
• Secure password hashing for user accounts
• Access controls limiting staff access to data on a need-to-know basis
• Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
Despite these measures, no method of data transmission or storage over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data. In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected parties in accordance with applicable law.
MyMidlist.com may display advertisements served by Google AdSense and other third-party advertising networks. By using our Platform, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to mymidlist.com and other websites across the internet.
• Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to our Platform and/or other sites on the internet.
• Users may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings at https://www.google.com/settings/ads
• MyMidlist does not control the content of advertisements served by third-party networks and is not responsible for their privacy practices.
• Revenue generated through advertising helps us maintain the directory as a free service for businesses and users.
MyMidlist operates from India and serves users and businesses across the Middle East and internationally. Your data may be processed on servers located outside your home country. Where data is transferred internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including:
• Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission (for EU data)
• Data processing agreements with service providers
• Compliance with applicable data protection laws in the countries we serve
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal obligations, or the services we offer. When we make material changes, we will:
• Update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page
• Send an email notification to registered users and business listing owners
• Display a prominent notice on the Platform for at least 30 days after the change
Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
